After spending time at a friend’s house, I realized what a huge consumer society we have created in South Western Ontario. News is worsening. The Corona is spreading in China. There is talk of an epidemic. I bought an airline ticket using my points for a round trip return from Toronto, to Dublin, to Faro, Portugal. Then there will be two and a half months along the Meditereanean Coast including Malta and Greece. Still we will see what happens. I grabbed a cloth mask that I used in Chengdu to ward off the effects of air pollution. My last words in Windsor were — ‘you don’t know what nonsense might happen.’
